Who created BOTS and why?
I'm Simon, a comedian and so-called crypto hobbyist. And just like you, I'm learning about trading as I go. In these videos, I do my very best to tell you as much as I can about trading apps, cryptocurrency, starting with trading, and much, much more.
This time, I’m going to tell you all about who created BOTS, and why! Opposite of the world of cryptocurrency, BOTS isn’t as mysterious and secretive as the market they find themselves in. Transparent as they are (and like to work), I’m delighted to tell you all there is to know. So are you ready to discover the story behind BOTS?
Sit back, relax, pour yourself a cuppa, and get ready to discover!
Who is behind the BOTS trading app?
After the very mysterious release of Bitcoin, more and more cryptocurrencies saw the light of day. Even though not always as mysterious as Bitcoin, not everyone fully understands what and who they’re dealing with.
One of the reasons I’d like to shine the light on the people behind the cryptocurrency trading app BOTS. This way, you know exactly who you’re dealing with!
Once upon a time…
Once upon a time, we lived in a world where trading with algorithms was only possible for the rich, the wealthy and the hedge fund babies. Founders Michiel, Colin and Stefan weren’t
rich, nor wealthy, nor did they grow up in the soft embrace of mommy’s or daddy’s hedge fund. They worked hard alright, but let’s just say you wouldn’t find them in the Quote
But this didn’t mean they weren’t passionate about trading.
Trading only for the rich and famous
Years of frustration and lots of thinking led to a fairly simple answer: trading and investing should be possible for anyone. Whether you’re rich and famous, or merely able to cough up 50 bobs for an initial investment. Even better: everyone should be able to profit from investing, without having to be wealthy already.
Well, guys and girls, you’ve probably seen it coming all along: but that’s when BOTS was born. It was early 2017 that Colin (BOTS CCO) shared an idea with Michiel (BOTS CEO): the programming of a trading strategy. An algorithm to pull more profit out of his investments.
An Excel spreadsheet and six cups of coffee
A simple Excel sheet was all they needed, and after only six cups of coffee: the very first trading bot was made. And it worked! On the spreadsheet that is. But this Excel spreadsheet was all they needed to take their idea to the next level. They used their network to reach out to Stefan (BOTS CTO), who programmed their algorithm.
A blissful combination
It failed miserably. Yeah, we surprised you there, right? Creating algorithms might not have been their strongest suit. Luckily, it didn’t take them long to get connected to people who actually were successful in writing algorithms. They even managed to find enthusiasts that were able to actually explain (you know, in ‘normal’ language) how trading with algorithms works. And that blissful combination resulted in BOTS!
The future of BOTS
And are there any expansions in the future? Yes sir! Expansions to other markets are the only logical next step in making trading accessible and available to everyone: whether that’s in cryptocurrency, stocks or mortgages. Anything to make sure they can deliver great returns to the BOTS users!
BOTS is a tech company that has developed an app that makes it possible for anyone to invest from €50. BOTS uses automated trading strategies so you can invest in cryptocurrency quickly and even without knowledge. Previously, these strategies were only accessible to the richest 3% of the world. BOTS now makes automated investing accessible to everyone. In 2021, it will also be possible to invest in stocks and other currencies through BOTS. The app is free to download and quick and easy to install. BOTS currently operates in more than 15 countries and by the end of the year, BOTS wants to be active in at least 60 countries and 4 continents.
